Washtenaw Elementary Science Olympiad

We're thrilled to report on our recent competition! Our 38 Bach participants competed across 24 events and medalled in 9 events (against 36 other participating schools). Special shout out to 2nd & 3rd Grade Feathered Friends, 2nd Grade Mystery Architecture, and 5th Grade Zip-It teams who all took home 2nd place medals!

This success wouldn't have been possible without our amazing parent volunteers. A huge thank you to the 20 parents who served as coaches, event day volunteers, and raffle basket organizers. Their dedication helped make the day fun and inspiring, sparking excitement for Science in our students. We can't wait to see what next year brings!

PTO-Council Fundraiser for Title 1 Schools

Since we are incredibly close to meeting our 30k goal (just shy by a little over $500 as of this email), the PTOC exec board decided to keep the fundraiser live for one additional week. Please feel free to continue to share the fundraiser within your networks and school communities. Every dollar we raise up to $30,000 will be matched by the PTOC Thrift Store.

Bach Diverse Book Initiative

As we are rounding the corner to the end of the year, we completed our final book checkouts of the year. In all, we had 13,705 books checked out by our amazing Bach readers! Over the next couple of weeks, please continue to look for and return library books.

This year, we added over 200 books from the proceeds of our fall book fair, focusing on continuing to update our nonfiction collection. Instead of a spring book fair, we currently have the Bach Diverse Initiative, which aims to strategically provide Bach’s Y5s - 5th grade students and teachers with a collection of diverse, engaging, and culturally responsive texts at multiple reading levels to support all students. We only have 55 books left on our Bookshop Wishlist! Would you consider donating a book to our library?

Thank you for supporting our Bach readers!
