Volunteers Needed

Winter Enrichment

This winter Bach will host 6 weeks of lunchtime enrichment beginning January 19th. These activities will be offered inside and are optional for students to participate in. There will be a range of activities to accommodate various age groups. Each enrichment will have an adult supervisor. For some classes, such as baking, there will be a maximum number of students allowed.

In order for these enrichment classes to be successful we will need the support of the Bach Community. Many of you have hidden talents just waiting to be shared with our amazing young people. Some of you may want to come and just have fun. Others may not have time to be present but could help bring in materials for the activities.

Each enrichment will be approximately 25 minutes and there are a total of 4 rotations. The first classrooms to rotate through begin at 11:43am with the last starting at 12:55pm. Hopefully this will make sense when you open the spreadsheet.

Please check out the Google Document for both the activities, volunteer slots, and the items needed. Room assignments for the activities will be available the day of when you check in at the office to volunteer on your given day. Please see the front office for donation drop-offs.

Scholastic Book Fair Volunteer Sign Up (December 5 & 8-12)

Bach’s Scholastic Book Fair is welcomed annual reading event that brings to school a wide selection of affordable and engaging books for kids at every reading level. Kids chose the books they want to read. Parent purchase books for Holiday gifts. Together, kids and parents, use the fair as a resource to help build their reading collection for home. Plus, Bach benefits from every purchase; teachers get books for the classroom and Bach’s Media Center gets books to add to their collection.

Walk-a-Thon Volunteer Sign Up (October 14-17 & 19)

Walk-a-Thon is Bach Elementary School’s most profitable fundraiser.  Nothing to sell, just a fun event that needs plenty of volunteers to make it a success!  Money raised goes toward field trips, theater productions, author talks, teacher supplies, and to sponsor more than ten family events each year. All of our students benefit from the money raised! This year, the event runs during student lunch recesses, October 14-17th, and on Sunday October 19th, from 1-5pm. Teacher Appreciation Dinner (November 3)

We are looking for volunteers to send in a dish for the teacher dinner on Monday, November 3rd. This is the evening that teachers stay late to prepare for parent teacher conferences. If you would like to help out, please sign up for the dish of your choice using the link below. We also need parents to help us set up and clean up! Your dish can be dropped off at the school anytime on Monday before 3:00. It should serve 6 to 8 people. There is no way to cook or reheat food before the teachers eat. All dishes should be ready to serve. It would be great if food could be provided in a container that can be thrown away. If that is not possible, containers will be washed that night and left in the teachers lounge to be picked up the next day. Please put your name on all dishes and utensils.
